The pictures show a News Graphic for a new kind of Light Emitting Diod
(LED) which is based on NanoWire-technology (a Swedish invention?).
        Dot #1 show an ordinary
LED the way they have looked for decades.
        Dot
#2 show a much more light intense HB- LED (high-brightness).
This one was invented during the 90's and can be found in modern flashlights.

        Dot
#3 show a completely new type of HB-LED which use NanoWires
made of ZinkOxide (see the large circle on the left). This ZnO HB-LED
is extremely energy efficient and has a light which is much more aimed,
        compared to the older HB-LED.
        The second picture
Dot #4 Older HB-LED used ThinFilm technology which in
short consisted of two thin layers which, when an electric current was
added, started to radiate light (fotones) in every direction.
        Dot
#5 The NanoWire technology is based on leading the light,
the fotones, in one direction. The ZnO HB-LED may radiate approximately
the same amount of fotones as a regular HB-LED, but with the aiming of
fotones, you are given a much more intense light.

      Material:
The client provided a Word document where the process was explained. Also
a number of pictures were presented, one being a photo of NanoWires as
        seen through an electron microscope.
Tools: FreeHand 9 to define the contours of the main image
and all the LEDs. After that, the work was moved to Photoshop for colouring,
        surface and shadows.
