Drug test through sweat
The skin of a person under the influence of drugs, will secrete microscopical drug particles through the sweat glands as long as the drug is still in the blood system.
1. A filter is rubbed on the patient's skin. In a special analysis unit the filter is heated up and any drugs are vapourised. On a cold surface just above, the drugs are condensed ...
2. ... and then easily rinsed off with a drop of water solution. The fluid passes a number of plates prepared with different kinds of antibodies.
One plate per drug: Heroine (opiates), Cocaine, Amphetamine, Ecstasy, Cannabis. The plates are vibrating at a certain frequency tuned to the plate's weight (mass).
3. If the fluid contains a substance that matches one of the antibodies, those antibodies will connect to the substances and leave the plate. The weight of the plate will decrease and the frequency will change ...
4. ... which is noted as a hit for that particular drug. The entire analysis takes less than a minute to perform.
